Gainful employment in the electronics industry led to the realisation that the Rover SD1 Fuel injection system was not rocket science and I was able to clarify (for myself) it's operation and function to the point of 'reasonable understanding'.
Thus is transpired that through my essays I was able to share my experiences of the Efi system and subsequently other parts /systems on these cars with many other SD1 owners in the UK, latterly via the internet, accross the globe.

The Rover SD1 Hella cruise control system is essentially simple concept. By monitoring the speed of the vehicle and comparing it electronically to a value selected by the driver, it automatically adjusts the throttle via a pneumatic actuator. With built in safety features, the driver can lower the stress of long haul driving and benifit financially from the improved fuel consumption. All at the drivers fingertips...................Until it goes wrong.
